Intoxicated driver arrested after striking pedestrian

MADISON, Wis. — A driver who was under the influence hit a pedestrian Saturday night, inflicting significant injuries, according to police.
The incident took place at 10:24 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of University Avenue, while the pedestrian tried to cross mid-block.
Police said the driver, Donisha Odom, continued traveling down University Avenue after striking the pedestrian. She was later located nearby.
The 36-year-old is facing charges of operating while intoxicated and causing injury, police said.
Police are continuing their investigation.
