In the 608: How to support local students living like Levi Linscheid

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – We’re looking ahead to a benefit golf outing in honor of Levi Linscheid, the brother of News 3 Now This Morning anchor Leah Linscheid.

The third annual Levi Linscheid Memorial Golf Outing is set to happen next Saturday, June 25th, with a few different ways to come together and give back.

There is a 9 and 18 hole golf tournament at Cole Acres in Cuba City during the day, with the nine hole tourney still having spots available right now.

The after party is happening later Saturday at The Back Bar/Annex in Platteville, where Levi worked with now owner Nathan “Squeak” Wallenhorst.

Squeak says it’s always amazing to see the community coming together to not only remember Levi but keep his positive mindset going forward.

“It’s great. To keep the tournament going and to have it be successful every year is just an incredible thing, just so many people wanting to come out and celebrate him,” Squeak said. “That’s the main part. We’re just trying to keep his memory alive.”

There’s also a silent and live auction, with all the money raised this year going to Levi’s Memorial Scholarship for students at Highland High School going into health-related fields, and also the “Soar to New Heights” Biology Mentor Fund at UW-Platteville where Levi attended.
