Viking Mississippi cruise ship makes stop in La Crosse

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — There’s a new way to cruise the Mississippi River in style: the Viking Mississippi has arrived.

The ship made its second-ever stop in La Crosse on Thursday.

The state-of-the-art vessel launched after construction finished earlier this year. It has the capacity to host 386 guests in 193 rooms.

It’s one of the cruise line’s largest designs and it was built specifically for the Mississippi River.

Viking Mississippi is also energy efficient and the first Viking vessel to operate in the region.

The marquee 15-day river cruise from the Twin Cities to New Orleans costs just under $13,000.
