This was our favorite waterfall in Iceland when we visited in 2018. We met my cousin from Germany there. She had just beaten breast cancer, and we were celebrating her remission in the middle of the Atlantic with her and her husband. We hiked 12 miles into the bottom of the Grand Canyon, with 40 lbs of equipment on our backs. We camped in the village of Supai for 4 days, hiking to various waterfalls each day. On the day this picture was taken we ended up hiking 26 miles round trip. The 12 mile hike out (and up) was difficult, but I’ll never forget an older gentlemen telling me on the switchbacks to ‘just put one foot in front of the other!’ ❤️ (photo: Lauren Peterson)We hiked 12 miles into the bottom of the Grand Canyon, with 40 lbs of equipment on our backs.
