Be careful what you share with pets on Thanksgiving
ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) – While you might be ready to feast, a lot of Thanksgiving foods can be harmful to pets.
Fatty foods like turkey skin are hard for animals to digest.
Although your dog may enjoy a rawhide bone, poultry bones can damage your pet’s digestive tract.
And holiday sweets like chocolate or pecans are poisonous to dogs.
“If people want to have a special something for their pet, actually have them pick up a couple specific treats that are made for dogs or cats,” said Douglas Kratt, immediate past president of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Don’t forget that some flowers and festive plants can be toxic to pets, so be careful about where you put your decorations.
