Hy-Vee recalls black beans after customer finds piece of ink pen in can

Hy-Vee is voluntarily recalling a limited quantity of Hy-Vee no salt added black beans that were sold in eight states, including Wisconsin, according to a release.
The black beans are being recalled for the potential presence of plastic or metal pieces in the product, officials said.
Hy-Vee brand no salt added black beans in 15-ounce cans with the code “Best By 04 APR 2019 258F2 095 16 XXXX” and UPC number 0075450105190 are being recalled, according to the release. The product was sold in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin between April 22 and July 18.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the product, according to the release.
The issue was discovered after Faribault Foods Inc., Hy-Vee’s supplier, announced it was issuing a recall after a consumer reported finding a piece of an ink pen in one container, officials said.
Customers who purchased the product can return it for a full refund.
