Hundreds march to Capitol in support of what’s happening at Mizzou

Hundreds of people showed their support for the movement that’s happening at the University of Missouri during a march in downtown Madison Thursday night.
The group started at Bascom Hill on the University of Wisconsin campus and made its way to the Capitol.
Police said the group, estimated at 500 to 600 people, was peaceful.
The march was in response to major racial tensions at the University of Missouri.
So far, the university’s chancellor and system president have quit their jobs in light of the issues. College students across the country joined in on demonstrations Thursday night.
Students in Madison are calling for support from the Wisconsin Black Student Union and other minority groups on campus.
For people marching Thursday night, the issues hit close to home.
“The huge thing is that people think this is only happening at Mizzou, that this is only happening at the University of Missouri, but what we don’t know is that at predominantly white institutions across the United States, we face the same issues,” march organizer Kenneth Cole said.
