Human remains found in shed destroyed by fire, officials say

TOWN OF IXONIA, Wis. — Human remains were found inside a shed that caught fire Monday morning in the town of Ixonia, officials said.
The state fire marshal was called Monday to two fires on the same property, according to a release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Firefighters were called at 6:16 a.m. to W2355 Northside Road on a report of a structure fire. When they arrived, they found a shed and a residence were both on fire.
Officials said human remains were found inside the shed at the Northside Road property.
According to the release, the identity of the remains is undetermined at this time.
The Ixonia Fire Department was assisted by 24 units from other local fire departments.
