House fire in Town of Beloit leaves house destroyed

TOWN OF BELOIT, Wis. — Firefighters responded to a house fire in the Town of Beloit Monday at 2:37 p.m., according to officials.
An off-duty firefighter reported heavy smoke showing from blocks away, so the station was called. Firefighters found heavy fire and smoke on the backside of the home and in the attic and roof areas. There was also a grass fire, according to the report.

Once crews confirmed that all residents and pets were out of the home, a defensive attack was used to control the fire, officials said.
The house is considered a total loss with damage estimated to be around $275,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but is believed to be accidental, according to the report.
The home at 839 Erin Circle, is owned by Tracy Hendricks, according to the report.
One firefighter was transported to the hospital for evaluation, according to the report.

As firefighters attempted to extinguish the first fire, a second fire was discovered at a neighbor’s house. The second fire was determined to be a garden shed fire, and was extinguished quickly, officials said.
