Homecoming Blood Drive underway at UW-Madison
MADISON, Wis. — The Homecoming Blood Drive at the University of Wisconsin-Madison kicked off Tuesday and runs through Thursday.
The event is being hosted at the Nick recreation facility on West Dayton Street from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Donors are being encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance, but walk-ins will be accepted as space permits.
Organizers are hoping to collect 450 units of blood, American Red Cross account manager Roxie Berra said.
“Students account for about 20% of the blood supply at any given time, so we’re here on the UW campus to get as many donors as we can (to) come out all three days,” Berra said.

Donors are also being given a Red Cross T-shirt and a $10 e-gift card. The first 125 donors will also get a coupon for Ian’s Pizza.
