Highway 16 reopens near Portage after crews battle fire
PORTAGE, Wis. — Highway 16 west of Portage was closed Friday evening as crews battled a house fire.
Dispatchers told News 3 that a home was fully engulfed in flames and firefighters from Portage and Briggsville fire departments responded on scene.
Both lanes of Highway 16 were closed between Industrial and Klappstein roads for more than an hour, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
