BRODHEAD, Wis. — A 25-year-old Brodhead man died in a crash on State Highway 104 between Brodhead and Albany Thursday morning, the Green County Sheriff’s Office said.

The two-vehicle crash was reported around 7:40 a.m. on Highway 104 north of County Highway A. The sheriff’s office said in a news release the victim was driving north in a 2003 Nissan Murano when he lost control due to slush on the road, crossed the center line and crashed into a semi-truck.

First responders took the victim to Mercy Hospital in Janesville where he was pronounced dead. He was not wearing a seatbelt, the release said.

The semi driver, a 62-year-old man from Westby, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Highway 104 was closed until roughly 1 p.m. Thursday, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

The victim’s name has not been released.
