Heroin trafficking suspects charged in court

Three men have been charged in Dane County court

MADISON, Wis. — Three men accused of heroin trafficking in Madison have been charged in Dane County court.

The three men were identified as Robert L. Adams, Eric L. Derring and Laquandis C. Gibson, according to a statement from Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen.

They face multiple charges stemming from an investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Justice-Division of Criminal Investigation related to heroin trafficking in Madison.

According to criminal complaints, an undercover agent with the DCI purchased 0.5 gram of suspected heroin for $75 in cash from Adams outside of an apartment building on Jan. 7. An undercover agent with the DCI purchased the same amount of heroin from Adams the next day outside of a Madison hotel.

According to complaint filed, an undercover agent purchased 0.5 gram of suspected heroin for $75 in cash from Gibson outside of an apartment building on Jan.  9. On Jan. 14 an undercover agent purchased 0.5 gram of suspected Heroin for $75 from Gibson at the same location.

Officials say Gibson admitted to selling heroin with Derring. DCI agents executed a search warrant at the Madison hotel room where Gibson and Derring were residing. Almost 20 grams of suspected heroin, two cellular phones, a digital scale and U.S. currency were seized during the search, according to the complaint.
