Henry Vilas Zoo announces month-long Halloween celebrations

MADISON, Wis. — It’s Spooky Season, and the Henry Vilas Zoo is celebrating all month long.
Instead of a one-day Boo at the Zoo event, the zoo is spreading its Halloween festivities across all of October.
Visitors can enjoy a Halloween-themed scavenger hunt, specials at the Glacier Grille and Chocolate Shoppe, or the Haunted Train.
On Oct. 24 at 11 a.m., the zoo will hold a Mascot Parade, featuring mascots from around the Madison area.
The will also be a Stroller Parade on Oct. 29 at 11 a.m.
“Some of our animals are fascinated by guests in costumes,” Zoo Marketing Manager Kristin Moala said in a statement Friday. “We want to make sure our animals still have the opportunity to see kids in costumes.”
The animals will also get to join in the Halloween spirit, receiving pumpkin enrichments every weekend.
