Henry ‘Harry’ Collier

Henry ‘Harry’ Collier, 89, of Richland Center, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Schmitt Woodland Hills in Richland Center.
He was born on July 30, 1926 in Chicago, IL. the son of William H. and Sarah (Neill) Collier. After graduating High school he served in the US Army. Harry married Avis Andrews in 1945, together they had two daughters.
He worked for Champion International for many years until his retirement in 1985. Harry was involved in the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church Vestry and Choir. He was active in many organizations including: Kiwanis Club, City Zoning, Meals on Wheels, UW-Richland Campus Foundation, and Richland Hospital Foundation. Harry was a talented artist and musician. He enjoyed participating in plays and various musical events.
Harry is survived by his wife Avis Collier of Richland Center; two daughters: Pamela (Roland) Mielke of Virginia Beach, VA., Gayle (Tim) Alioto of Richland Center; three grandchildren: Matthew (Chrissie) Alioto of La Crescent, MN., Jennifer (Carson) Saunders of Williamsburg, VA., Sarah Mielke of Virginia Beach, VA.; five great grandchildren: Alex, Aidan, and Anthony Alioto, Elizabeth and Andrew Saunders; sister: Virginia Zacher and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Harry is preceded in death by his parents, brothers William Collier and Robert Markham, and brother- in- law William Zacher.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials in Harry’s name may be given to Schmitt Woodland Hills at 1400 W. Seminary St. Richland Center, WI 53581. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
