Helen M. Miller

JANESVILLE— Helen M. Miller, age 94, of Janesville, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012, at Milton Senior Living. She was born in Milton on Jan. 31, 1918, the daughter of Louis and Mary (Felix) Berner. Helen married Kosmas Miller on June 5, 1943. He preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 2007. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic school and Janesville High School. Before marriage she was employed by Sears Roebuck and Midwest Photo Studio. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the 59 plus club. She also enjoyed taking sketching classes from George Gutmann and painting classes from Lois Buehl.
Survivors include her son, Victor (Bonnie) Miller of Janesville; 2 daughters, Helen (Chuck) Hanauska of Milton and Mary Ellen (Dan) Beck of Vonore, TN; 3 grandchildren: Vicki (Dave) Schultz of Neenah, Lauri (Trent) Brown of Elliston, MT, and Derek (fiancé, Lanna Zobel) Hanauska of Geneseo, IL; 3 great grandchildren: Meredith and Evan Schultz and Codi Rose Brown; a brother, Louis (Josephine) Berner; and sister, Elizabeth Fuller both of Janesville; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers, George and Aloysius Berner; and 4 sisters: Loretta Stillmank, Mary Henry, Sophie Berner and Regena Berner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Janesville, with Msgr. James Uppena officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at church. SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY is assisting the family.
