Healthy Communities Summit underway in Madison
MADISON, Wis. — Cyclists and those looking for tips on healthier living are gathering at the Madison Concourse Hotel Thursday and Friday for an inaugural event put on by the Wisconsin Bike Fed and the Wisconsin Office of Outdoor Recreation.
The 2022 Wisconsin Healthy Communities Summit features experts from state agencies, speakers with industry insights and the ability to enjoy a variety of the city’s outdoor recreation opportunities.
It will focus on ways to build and maintain healthy communities and why they matter.
“Having so many people who are all interested in outdoor recreation, who all want to make a difference for their communities and bring this information back home, and really propel their own communities forward and making outdoor recreation more accessible, more of the norm of the things we invest in, it’s really awesome to see,” Wisconsin Bike Fed government affairs manager Alesha Emmert said.
Madison, she added, “felt like a really natural fit” to host the inaugural event.
