Hayes to submit name for NBA draft advisory committee

Wisconsin junior forward Nigel Hayes hinted at pursuing a professional career shortly after the NCAA Tournament.
Hayes isn’t projected to be a first round NBA draft pick, but a new rule is allowing Hayes and others to get specific feedback regarding their futures.
Players can submit their names to an advisory committee to find out if or when they would be picked in the June 23 draft. They can attend pre-draft workouts and attend the NBA combine before the June 13 withdrawal deadline. If the player hasn’t hired an agent before the deadline, they can return to school.
Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard has been in touch with Hayes the whole way, and he’ll help him gather information any way that he can.
“We’re going to submit his name to the advisory committee, and that’ll get feedback on that,” Gard said. “The next step will be if he decides to put his name in for the early entry. That hasn’t been decided yet. Obviously, if that hasn’t been decided, we haven’t done it yet. The closest deadline coming is the advisory committee. He will submit his name. I will submit his name for that.”
