MADISON-Harland S Bright, age 94, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at The Villa at Middleton Village.

He was born on December 10, 1922, in Akron, Ohio. He married Gloria Bright on June 27, 1942 in Elkton, MD. She preceded him in death in 1996.

Harland graduated from Allentown High School in 1940. Harland was a United States Army veteran who proudly served his country during World War II. After his military service he was employed as an Electronics Tech for University of Wisconsin for over 26 years retiring in 1988. ‘

Harland had a variety of interests including handball, tennis, golf, bowling, remote controlled cars and planes. He enjoyed all Wisconsin sports, especially the Badgers and Packers. Harland loved his breakfasts and “Bloody Mary’s” at Sofra in Middleton nearly every day of the week. Harland especially was devoted to his wife Gloria and their memorable times together.

Harland is survived by two sons, Gary (Chris Nordin) Bright, Neil (Judy) Bright; seven grandchildren, Neil (Claudia) Bright, Michael (Victoria Ruff) Bright, Lance Bright, Eric (Stephanie) Bright, Lyn (Tim) Miller-Bright, Jori Conca, Lexie Nordin; thirteen great-grandchildren, Cassie (Alec) Foster, Sonya Bright, Julia Bright, Brooklyn Bright, Logan Bright, Liam Bright, Kailey Bright, Olivia Bright, Isabella Bright, Noah Conca, Leila Conca, Kaeden Peebles-Nordin, Brantley Peebles-Nordin; . He was preceded in death by; wife, Gloria Bright; and his mother, Viola.

Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave, Middleton, on Friday, Sept 1, 2017 from 5pm until 7pm. Private family committal services will be held.
