Gronkowski catches one more pass in Gillette Stadium

Football legend Rob Gronkowski caught a pass from an unlikely quarterback on Friday night: country music star Luke Bryan.

Gronkowski, nicknamed “Gronk” by fans, was brought out as a surprise guest during Bryan’s soldout show in Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts — home of the New England Patriots, for whom Gronk played his entire professional career.

Gronk, who holds the record for most catches by a tight end in Super Bowl history, caught one more pass to the delight of fans attending.

“I can now say I completed a pass to Gronk in Gillette Stadium,” Bryan said afterward, according to CNN affiliate WCVB. “How cool is that?”

Gronk didn’t spike the ball, but he did spike a red Solo cup on stage.

Bryan led the crowd in a “Hall of Fame” chant, according to WCVB. Gronk retired at the end of last season, after winning three Super Bowls with the team.

This is Bryan’s fourth time headlining Gillette Stadium since 2014, WCVB reported. No word yet on whether Gronk will be back for number five, but we can hope.
