Green Lake man injured in struggle over gun, police say

GREEN LAKE, Wis. — Green Lake County deputies say a man has life-threatening injuries after a domestic-related incident in Green Lake Saturday morning.
Officers were called to the house around 11:30 a.m. to find residents had fled from a 28-year-old man who had a weapon in the upstairs apartment, according to a Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office news release. The neighborhood was notified of possible danger, and tactical teams were called in to talk with the man.
The sheriff’s office said Wednesday that the man’s injuries were self-inflicted, occurring in the upper apartment. The man remained hospitalized Wednesday with serious injuries.
Deputies said the man had walked out of the apartment with life-threatening injuries and was taken from the scene by Med Flight.
A struggle over the gun appeared to have happened just before a 911 call, according to the release. A 26-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man fled the scene and were not injured.
The sheriff’s office said it’s still investigating and criminal charges could be referred to the district attorney within the coming weeks.
