Gov. Scott Walker tells graduating students at Concordia University that when they face uncertainty in the future, they should take their first step with confidence.

Walker addressed nearly 500 graduate students Friday at the school in Mequon, north of Milwaukee.

Walker doesn’t have a college degree himself, but says his message was inspired by what happened to him a few weeks earlier.

As part of a tourism event in Green Bay he took the inaugural ride down a 1,000-foot zip line. He says when he stood on the tower and looked down he momentarily questioned his decision. But he focused on the horizon and jumped — and felt exhilarated.

He tells the graduate students they too might question themselves, but they should trust their education, focus on the horizon and go.
