Glenn E. Herschleb

Glenn E. Herschleb, age 83, passed away peacefully at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City on Tuesday, Mar. 29, 2022. He was born Jan. 20, 1939 to the late Harold and Emma (Thalacker) Herschleb. He attended and graduated from Deforest High School graduating in the class of 1957. Following High School, he enlisted in the U. S. Army. Glenn was later introduced to Marilyn Accola, they were engaged on Valentine’s Day 1962 and married shortly after on Sept. 8, 1962. Glenn worked as a Master Plumber, first working for his in-laws at Accola and Osterfund in Prairie du Sac and eventually retiring after 40 years from Prairie Plumbing; retiring in 2008. Glenn loved the outdoors, gardening at home, fishing and hunting. He was a long time member of Lake Wisconsin Country Club, enjoying golf with Marilyn and Thursday night men’s league. Glenn looked forward to time spent with his family and trips up north to the family cabin on Ojibwa Flowage.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children, Lora (Al) Breunig, Kris Helms, Brett (Rhonda) Herschleb; grandchildren, Dexter (Tessa) Breunig and their son, Karter and one more on the way, Tiffany (Matt) Katzman and their children Emersyn and Briggs, Tayler (Kyle) Goodwin and their son Graham, and Macy Breunig, Missy (Chris) Breunig and their daughter Addison, Kim (Jarett) Schoepp, Bailey (Desiree Bradford) Herschleb and their children Everleigh and Charlie, Brooke (Trey Storm) Herschleb, Trevor (Emily Anderson) Ziegler; sister, Ruth Paskey; brother and sister in-laws, James (Sue) Accola, Jack (Judy) Accola, Janice (Skip) Stephenson, Susan (Tom) Schermerhorn, Tom Accola. He is further survived by other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son in-law, Lester Helms; siblings, Jean (Midge) Herschleb, Grace (Arnold) McQueen, Duane (Millie) Herschleb, Rich (Dorris) Herschleb, and brother in-law, Elgin Paskey.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, Apr. 1, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 100 Oak St., Prairie du Sac. A visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of service. Interment will be held in the Saint John’s Columbarium, Military Honors will be accorded by the Lachmund-Cramer VFW Post 7694.
