Gladys ‘Irene’ Schult

Gladys ‘Irene’ Schult, 89, of Belmont, passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, IA.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Rev. Connie Matye will officiate. Burial will be at Belmont Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Gladys “Irene” Schult Memorial Fund. Irene was born on November 13, 1922 in the Belmont area, she was the only child of Ambrose ‘LaVern’ and Lena (Buckmann) Martin. Growing up she attended Black Bear country school and graduated from Belmont High School in 1940. She married Harvey A. Schult on September 26, 1950, where they lived and farmed on the Schult Family Farm (3rd generation on farm). Harvey preceded her in death on September 1, 2009.

Irene is survived by her only child, son Dennis (Sandra) Schult of Hazel Green, WI; and two grandchildren, Stephen of Madison , WI. and Krystal (Nathan) Byers of Madison, WI. See was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
