Gladwyn Hubert Daines

Gladwyn Hubert Daines, age 93 of Friendship, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Monday, July 24, 2017.
Gladwyn was born January 1, 1924 in Thorp, Wisconsin, the son of Bernard and Ona (Dyer) Daines. He grew up being known as “Gyke” by his Hillsboro friends where he graduated from high school in 1942. He also became known in the Baraboo area as “Denny”.
Gladwyn served his country during World War II with the Navy in the South Pacific. After returning stateside he enjoyed a good life with his loving wife, Marlene (Campbell). He worked many years as a superintendent in the construction business and was a 60 year member of the Bricklayers Local 13. He retired at the end of 1986.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Dennis) Griep of Friendship; his two sons, Scott (Wendy Klinger) Daines also of Friendship and Todd (Carrie) Daines of Tennessee. He is further survived by his two granddaughters, Brittany and Courtney; and a special four-legged furry friend “Cat”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marlene, and his brothers Russell and Duane.
