As the home to Madison’s oldest antique Civil War-era bar (as the establishment’s website boasts), the Malt House Tavern offers beer-lovers a taste of history. The Malt House Tavern will acknowledge several histories in its Anniversary Ale Celebration, featuring anniversary edition beers from four different breweries. Available on tap will be Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.’s 40th anniversary IPA, Great Dane Pub & Brewing Co.’s 25th anniversary imperial Scotch ale, and Tyranena Brewing Co.’s 20th anniversary bourbon and Madeira barrel-aged imperial stout. Guests can also purchase bottles of Lakefront Brewery’s 30th anniversary bourbon barrel-aged eisbock. All of the anniversaries together make up 115 collective years of brewing 4-11 p.m. Click here for more information

Saturday, Jan. 11
Vintage Brewing Co. will also celebrate this week, releasing two new beers as part of 10 Years of Food and Beers at Vintage Brewing Co. Capitol East. To honor its 10-year anniversary (the company first opened in January 2010), Vintage Brewing Co. will present two new brews. This includes the BA Mega Cat, a small batch project featuring its signature Scaredy Cat Oatmeal Stout aged in Old Sugar Distillery whiskey barrels, as well as Snazzy Pants, a spiced sour brown ale with chai tea, lemon and rum-soaked French oak. 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Click here for more information
