Gerald Lynn Jacobson

Gerald “Jake” Jacobson, age 69 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Sunday, March 10, 2013 at his home with his loved ones by his side.

A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Picha Funeral Home in Lake Delton, Wisconsin.

Jake was born December 6, 1943 in Baraboo, Wisconsin the son of Carl and Mildred (Roller) Jacobson. In April of 1979 he married Barbara Stanienda at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Dells. Jake began working while a young man at Zinke’s Grocery Store in Wisconsin Dells, from here he moved to Madison and became manager of the first PDQ store. With his own entrepreneur talent he owned and operated 5 neighborhood grocery stores near the University/Capital area in Madison. In 1972 he returned to the Dells area and delivered dairy products for the Bancroft dairy. He worked for Scott Construction for a few years and in 1983 he owned and operated Jakes SaniServ until 2004. To stay busy he worked for the Dells Boat Company for the next 9 years.

Jake is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Mark of Wisconsin Dells and Jeff (Teresa) of Lake Delton; daughter, Michelle (James) Kerr of Reedsburg, WI; brothers, James (Diane) of Wisconsin Dells and Clifford of Mauston, WI and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
