Gerald G. ‘Jerry’ Gabrielse

Jerry Gabrielse, age 63, of rural Cazenovia, died suddenly at his home on Friday, March 1, 2013. He was born March 12, 1949 in Oostburg, WI the son of Bill and Agnes (Leyes) Gabrielse.

Jerry is survived by his wife and best friend of 30 years: Renee Gabrielse. His son Brandon of Phoenix, AZ. His sister: Rogean Gartman of Oostburg. Sister in law: Audrey Gabrielse of Oostburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Donald Gabrielse.

Jerry loved the mountains of Colorado and the shores of Lake Michigan. Jerry and Renee moved from Colorado in 2003 to their small farm where they lovingly restored the 1896 Simpson farmstead. Jerry was an avid gardener and woodworker. His photographs were featured in numerous issues of Wisconsin Trails and other publications. Jerry and Renee’ loved hiking, biking, cooking, kayaking and just being together.

A time of remembrance will be held at the PRATT COMMUNITY HALL , 140 North Park Street, Richland Center, on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. A prayer service will begin at 3:45. Memorials may be directed to the family of Jerry Gabrielse. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the Gabrielse family.
