Fundraiser supports community asset ensuring healthy futures for kids

It should go without saying: a child living with abuse cannot thrive.
Our editorial agenda item of making our state a state where every child thrives is irrelevant in the reality of child abuse. It won’t happen, which makes the work of places like Safe Harbor Child Advocacy Center so important.
The staggering and sickening child abuse statistics nationally and here in Dane County sadly make child advocacy centers like Safe Harbor necessary to reduce the trauma to child victims.
As Child Abuse Prevention Month draws to a close Safe Harbor is partnering with Madison Teachers Incorporated on a Bowl-a-Thon this Sunday from 12-3 p.m. at Dream Lanes.
What a great partnership: says a lot about our teachers. And it’s an important fundraiser to support a community asset to help ensure healthy futures for kids in our community. Both the Safe Harbor and MTI websites have more information.
