Friedericke Petter

Friedericke “Frieda” Petter passed away peacefully on July 16, 2017. She was born June 19, 1925 in Czechoslovakia to parents Karel and Katarina Strauch. She married Karl H. Petter on May 12, 1951.
In 1952 they left Germany for the United States where they worked on various farms in the Sauk Prairie area, and became US citizens on May 24, 1974 which they were very proud of. Both she and her husband enjoyed numerous travels within the U.S. and abroad, camping in their RV, and fishing in Lake Wisconsin.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Karl in 2008, her siblings Paul, Anna, Lotai, and Raisi.
Her German sass and spunk will be missed by her longtime neighbors and all her many friends while living at Maplewood Village and Nursing Home. Frieda will be remembered for her response ” Five dollars and 50 cents” when anyone asked her what she needed. She could brighten anyones day with her antics.
A very big thank you to all Frieda’s caregivers over the years. The kindness , comfort and friendship provided these past years was greatly appreciated by her.
No formal services will be held. For those wishing to honor Frieda, please make a donation to the Sauk Prairie Hospital, Sauk County Humane Society, the local food pantry, or a favorite charity of your choice.
