The Boneyard
Name a better combo than dogs and beer — we’ll wait for your answer with one of each at The Boneyard. This bar combines an off-leash dog park with on-leash areas where your pup can make new friends and get exercise. There is a rotating list of craft beers on tap, plus cocktails, hard ciders, wine, nonalcoholic beverages and usually a visiting food truck. Leashed dogs are welcome in the indoor bar, or you can sit down at an outdoor fireplace and watch your pet run around with friends. 1018 Walsh Road, 608-216-8865, madisonboneyard.com
O’so Brewing Co.’s Madhouse
O’so Brewing Co.’s Madhouse aims to be a cozy spot for both dogs and their humans. This bar, featuring 20 beers on tap, has some rules when it comes to pets, but most are pretty self-explanatory like keeping your dog on a short leash. During the warmer months, you can also enjoy a brew outdoors. 1817 E. Washington Ave., 608-467-8329, osobrewing.com/the-madhouse
Capital Brewery
Founded in 1984, Capital Brewery wants to see your pup when you stop by the Middleton biergarten. With nearly 20 beers on tap, plus the outdoor area open April through October, you’re sure to have a good time and you don’t need to leave your dog at home. The brewery has previously hosted Dogtoberfest with the Dane County Humane Society — a 2022 event has not yet been announced. 7734 Terrace Ave., Middleton, 608-836-7100, capitalbrewery.com
Wisconsin Brewing Co.
Wisconsin Brewing Co. prides itself on being a family-friendly brewery, and that extends to family dogs, too. Leashed dogs are welcome every day in the taproom and backyard so you can enjoy some quality time with every member of the family. The brewery has more than 10 brews on tap, including the dog-themed Chocolate Lab Porter. 1079 American Way, Verona, wisconsinbrewingcompany.com
