‘Fort McCoy’ movie premieres in Tomah
Movie based on true story

TOMAH, Wis. — Actors you see on the silver screen are out on the red carpet Wednesday in Tomah.
They were at the premiere of the award winning movie “Fort McCoy” The movie is based on the true story of the Connor family who lived near Fort McCoy during World War II. During that time the military base housed German and Japanese prisoners.
A majority of the scenes were shot in La Crosse, including some that include the old Hollywood theater downtown.
“It’s amazing to have the movie here and have it intertwined and scenes taking place where they really happened. I mean my great aunt and uncle and grandparents really went on dates to La Crosse to the movie,” said Kate Connor, the Director, Producer, and star of the film.
The movie will debut this Friday at both Ho Chunk Theater in Tomah and Marcus Cinema in La Crosse.
