Former Sauk Prairie police officer pleads guilty to misconduct

A former Sauk Prairie police officer pleaded guilty to misconduct in public office and was sentenced Tuesday to 12 months probation, Wisconsin court records show.

Matt Alt was accused of stealing prescription drugs marked for disposal from the police force in November. He voluntarily resigned from the Sauk Prairie Police Department in December.

All other charges were dismissed, including possession of narcotic drugs and possession of illegally obtained prescription, according to the records.
