Former Mallard Marincov playing in Beloit

Pursuing professional career with Snappers

BELOIT — Two years ago, Tyler Marincov was a Northwoods League All-Star. Now he’s pursuing his professional baseball career with the Beloit Snappers.

Marincov leads the Class A Snappers in home runs (12) and RBI (48) as he tries to impress the Oakland Athletics organization.

After a collegiate career at North Florida, Marincov was an eighth round draft pick of the A’s.

Marincov looks back fondly on his days with the Mallards and playing at Warner Park.

“That experience was unbelievable,” Marincov said. “That stadium, those fans were way more than I could have expected. That’s the most fun I’ve ever had playing baseball.”
