Former Fitchburg police K-9 dies

FITCHBURG, Wis. — A former Fitchburg Police K-9 officer has died, the department said Friday.
K-9 Officer Chase died Sunday at the age of 10, police said. He served the department for eight years before retiring last January.
Police said he began working with the department in 2008 with handler Clint Spade. In 2010, he was paired with Officer Cesar Lopez, and the two were partners until Chase’s retirement.
A memorial service for Chase is being planned and will be announced at a later date, the department said.
