Former Assembly leader to make $94K at PSC

Scott Suder set to start new position as administrator Oct. 7

MADISON, Wis. — Former Wisconsin Assembly Majority Leader Scott Suder is set to make $94,000 a year in his new job at the state Public Service Commission.

Suder is set to start his new position as administrator of the PSC’s Water, Compliance and Consumer Affairs on Oct. 7. He replaces John Schulze, who resigned in April. PSC spokesman Nathan Conrad says Schulze made $97,500.

Suder made $49,943 as a state representative. He resigned from the Assembly in August. Days later news broke that the state budget included provisions designed to funnel a $500,000 grant to the politically connected United Sportsmen of Wisconsin Foundation. Suder’s former chief-of-staff, Luke Hilgemann, serves as an official with the foundation.

Gov. Scott Walker ultimately rescinded the grant earlier this month.
