Finally some sun…accumulating snow by Wednesday

WHAT WE’RE TRACKING:

We’ll finally see some sun today, although breezy conditions are expected today, lasting into this evening. Our attention turns to a weather system that will move through the Ohio River Valley late Tuesday night and Wednesday. Snow will clip southern Wisconsin.  Expect 1 to 2 inches with higher totals toward the Illinois border.

PLANNING YOUR NEXT 24 HOURS:

After cloudy skies this morning, skies will briefly turn partly sunny into the afternoon.  Expect a southwest breeze to increase this afternoon. The breezy conditions will help hold up temperatures tonight.

EXTENDED FORECAST:

Expect quiet conditions over southern Wisconsin for the next couple of days. Breezy southwest winds will develop on today, lasting through this evening. The winds will help push temperatures into the low 30s this afternoon. Overnight low temperatures tonight will be in the upper 20s. The weather system we have been tracking for midweek is still on the radar, likely spreading scattered snow showers into parts of southern Wisconsin late Tuesday night, lasting through much of Wednesday; along with breezy conditions. The series of weather systems will continue Friday through much of next weekend, bringing chances of scattered snow showers, with breezy conditions continuing. Following the series of weather systems, below normal temperatures are expected by the start of the next work week: High temperatures may struggle in the teens, with overnight low temperatures in the single digits above zero.
