Flossie Mae Anderson

SUN PRAIRIE-Flossie Anderson, age 84, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Edgerton Care Center Nursing Home. She was born on June 4, 1928, on the family farm in Richland County, the daughter of Roland and Lela (Harris) Nicks. Flossie graduated from Viola High School and came to Madison to work at Oscar Mayer, where she met her husband. She married Mel “Mally” Anderson on July 28, 1950, and they raised three children together. Flossie waitressed many years at Cathay House and Herreman’s Supper Club. After retirement, she worked for Wisconsin Cheeseman. In her spare time, she enjoyed bingo, playing slots, and cards.
Flossie is survived by her children, Tommy (Lidia) Anderson of Corona, Calif., Kim (Dan) Horejs of Appleton, and Danny (Lisa) Anderson of Oregon; stepson, Dennis (Pam) Anderson of Culloden, W.V.; grandchildren, Kathy (Patrick) Howe, Susan (Bob) Graves, Libby, Elise and Andrea Horejs, and Elise Sturm Anderson; great-grandchildren, Laila, Mya and Cecilia Howe, Abby and Colton Graves, and Conner Horejs; and brother, Bernard (Delores) Nicks. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and sister, Margaret Shuckhardt.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013. Burial will be at Viola Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.
