Florence E. Berger

Florence E. Berger, 96, of Richland Center, died Monday, December 26, 2022, at Schmitt Woodland Hills in Richland Center. She was born on March 29, 1926, the daughter of Alfred G. and Weltha E. (Knight) Smith. Florence graduated from Avoca High School in 1945. She was a long-time member of the Lone Rock First Lutheran Church and the ALCW (American Lutheran Church Women). Florence married Norman Berger October 22, 1948, at Avoca Lutheran Church. They lived in the Avoca and Lone Rock area until they moved to Richland Center in 1968. She lived in the Richland Center area until her passing. Florence enjoyed music, dancing, gardening and bird watching.

Florence is survived by her son Monty (Lorraine Servais) Berger of Lone Rock; granddaughters: Lori (Toby) Kanter of Black Earth, Dawn (Dan) Breunig of Prairie du Sac; three great granddaughters: Morgan (fiancé Andrew Zimmerman) Erickson, Miriah (Skyler Richards) Breunig, Michela (Isaac Bindl) Breunig; nieces: Linda Scanlon, Jeanne Griswold, Patsy Needham, other relatives and friends.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Weltha, five brothers: Melvin (Bernice), Pearl (Agnes), Don (Martha), Kenneth, Raymond (Neva), sister Kathryn Smith, nephew Michael Smith and former husband Norman Berger.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, January 6, 2023, at the Pratt Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023, at the Pratt Memorial Chapel from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM.
