Five displaced in Janesville fire

Five people are displaced after a house fire in Janesville on Sunday afternoon, the Janesville Fire Department said.

In a news release, officials said firefighters were called to a multifamily home at 634 S. Main St. at 12:28 p.m. for a report of a fire. Firefighters found the building’s back porch on fire with flames extending to the attic.

The fire was brought under control within minutes, the release said. Heat and smoke damage extended into the home’s living and attic areas.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated, the release said. No one was injured in the fire.
