First responders injured when stairs collapse

Three first responders were taken to the hospital after a staircase collapsed Wednesday afternoon in the town of Walworth.

The first responders were transporting a patient who was light-headed and dizzy down the stairs, officials said. The collapse happened when all four people were on the steps.

A police lieutenant injured his back and an EMT and volunteer EMS worker were also hurt.
