Firefighters rescue 8 ducklings from sewer

A group of firefighters went the extra mile Sunday to help a family of ducks in distress.

Crews with Engine 7A rescued eight ducklings from a sewer near High Point and Watts road.

A citizen said Lt. Scott Larson crawled through the pipe while other firefighters blocked off traffic. He was eventually able to pass the ducklings to his colleagues who put them in a bag, and took them to the mother in a nearby marsh.
