Fire destroys fire hall in northwestern part of state
Fire has destroyed the fire hall in the Town of Gordon in northwestern Wisconsin.
The Douglas County sheriff’s office tells WDIO-TV that the fire hall was engulfed in flames Thursday afternoon and that witnesses reported hearing explosions.
Town Constable George Booth says he reported the fire around noon. Booth says the fire hall is destroyed as well as at least six fire vehicles. He says he doesn’t know how the fire started.
The fire hall was the incident command center during a massive wildfire in northwestern Wisconsin in May.
