Fire Destroys Beloit Garage, 3 Vehicles

A fire destroyed a garage in Beloit on Sunday morning.

Beloit fire officials said the fire fully engulfed a detached garage on 822 Central Avenue, destroying three vehicles inside, at about 6 a.m.

The home was being rented and authorities said the occupants didn’t have rental or vehicle insurance.

Authorities estimated $15,000 in damage was caused to the garage, plus another $55,000 to the contents of the garage. Authorities said the single-family residence and neighboring homes also suffered heat damage.

The occupants were home at the time of the fire, but no one was hurt.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
