Fay N. Staley

Fay N. Staley, age 80, of McFarland, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at UW hospital and Clinics.

She was born on Jan. 5, 1937, in Atlantic, IA, the daughter of Floyd and Ann (Gregerson) Norris. She married Richard Staley on Nov. 26, 1965, in Wisconsin and they spent 55 wonderful years together.Fay graduated from Madison Business College with a degree in Clerical Administration. Fay worked for the State of Wisconsin retiring in 2000 after 27 years. She was a member of Madison Women’s bowling with a high score of 299. She belonged to Planet Fitness and went daily with her friends. Fay was a lifelong Cubs fan. Her dream came true last year when the Cubs won the World Championship. She loved to garden and grew beautiful roses.

Fay is survived by husband, Rich; sister-in-law, Dorothy Norris; three nieces, Deborah Meyer, Ann (Bob Jones) Sherlock and Nila (Clayton) Zanker; nephews, Todd Sherlock, Jon (Rosa) Norris and Michael Staley; god-son, Matt Hale; and his mother, Sue Hale; and her longtime friend of over 60 years, Jackie Langetieg. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Gloria Tenner; and brother, Dr. Jed Norris.

A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017.
