Ethical Trade Co. opens Madison pop-up shop
Nonprofit offers ethically sourced items for the holidays.

Ethical Trade Co. is setting up shop in Madison — well, pop-up shop, that is — just in time for the holidays.
The temporary shop is located at 1702 S. Park St. for the next two months, a release says. Ethical Trade Co. is giving Madisonians a chance to buy ethically sourced items for everyone on their list this year.
Founded in 2015, Ethical Trade Co. is a nonprofit that partners with businesses giving human trafficking survivors a safer working environment.
“Our purpose in opening the pop-up shop is to not only provide a source of items that are slave-free but also environmentally friendly,” says CEO James Ferrett. “Everything we do has to be good for the workers and for the planet we share.”
Ethical Trade Co. has direct trade coffee, tea and dried fruits; bath and body products made in Wisconsin and handmade Merino wool sweaters, among other fair trade items.
The store will be open Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. As COVID-19 case numbers are currently spiking, Ethical Trade Co. also offers online shopping at its website, ethicaltradeco.com.
