Esther A. McReynolds, 87, of Platteville died on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Southwest Health Center Hospital, Platteville.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Lutheran Church of Peace, Platteville. Rev. Jeff Pedersen will officiate. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February, 25, 2016 at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville or from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the church.

Esther was born on October 28, 1928 in Platteville, Wisconsin, daughter of Ferdinand and Dora (Borcherding) Masbruch. She was united in marriage to Everett J. McReynolds on August 25, 1951 in Platteville. He preceded her in death on January 27, 1990.

After graduating from college Esther taught school in Ellenboro for one year. After getting married she and Everett farmed in Lima Township, Grant County for many years. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Peace where she gave of her time through stewardship with the church circles and quilting. She was a member of the Grant County Homemakers and a volunteer at the Platteville Senior Center. She enjoyed playing cards, going on charter bus trips, tending to her gardens, jigsaw puzzles and walking. She was an avid Packer and Badger fan. Esther especially enjoyed following her daughter, Lori, and her grandsons, Nathan and Brian, in all of their high school and college sports.

Esther is survived by three children, Larry McReynolds of Platteville; Linda (Bruce) Richardson of Platteville; Lori (Jill Schlies) McReynolds of Madison; two grandsons, Nathan (fiancé, Cena Sharp) and Brian Richardson; brother, Art Masbruch of Colorado; sisters-in-law, Marion Masbruch and Geneva Beals of Platteville; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Clay Masbruch.
