Esteban Loaiza, former MLB pitcher, arrested on drug charges
Esteban Loaiza, who played 14 seasons in Major League Baseball, was arrested in San Diego last week and faces several drug charges, Sports Illustrated reported.
According to the report, officials with the San Diego Sheriff’s Office said the former pitcher is being charged with possession and transportation of heroin and cocaine for sale of over 20 kilograms and transportation or sale of narcotics or a controlled substance.
Loaiza, 46, was held on $200,000 bail and is due in court on Wednesday, the New York Daily News reported.

Loaiza played for nine teams over his MLB career. He was a two-time All Star and finished second in the 2003 American League Cy Young voting, Sports Illustrated reported.
He finished his Major League career in 2008 with the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers.
According to Baseball Reference, Loazia had a 126-114 career record.
