Eric “Rick” David Nelson

Eric David Nelson, age 56 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin passed to rest at his home on Thursday, April 29, 2021.

Eric “Rick” was born June 1, 1964 in Waukesha, Wisconsin the son of Bonnie (Greusel) Winiarski and David Nelson. He married Heidi Johnson and had a son, Joey Nelson. Rick’s passions were cars and trucks, and by his 30’s he was driving big rig trucks. Rick was successful in training new truck drivers, sharing his knowledge and experience of the road. He was proud of his driving record having logged over 3.8 million miles with no tickets or at fault accidents, truly “The King of the Road”. Rick loved going to the annual Iola and Jefferson car shows meeting up with friends, swapping stories and having fun.

Eric is preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie and stepfather, Dennis Winiarski.

He is survived by his son, Joey Nelson; step-children, Kayla and Jason Johnson; his brother, Jeff (Terri) Nelson and sisters, Kim (Bill) Moore and Denise (Jim) Pahman as well as family members, cousins and good friends.

A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date in his honor in the summer months in the Southeast Wisconsin area.
