Emma A Onsager

Emma Agnes (Porter) Onsager, 91 died Monday, May 22, 2017 at Vernon Manor Nursing Home in Viroqua, Wisconsin.

Emma was born on February 7, 1926 to Fred and Barbara (Coyer) Porter in Juneau County. Emma married Leonard “Huns” John Onsager on September 25, 1943.

Emma and Huns had seven children, Larry (Ann) of Berrien Springs, MI., Roger (Julie) of New Lisbon, WI., Lyle of Great Falls, MT., Sherry (Steve) of Viroqua, WI., Dale (Lynn) of Blair, WI., Jay of Oxford, WI., Scott (Mike) of Milwaukee, WI.

Their son Jay passed away on May 23rd, 2017.

13 grandchildren; Gordon Onsager, Ole Onsager, Lars Onsager, Jeremie Onsager, April Oswald, Andrew Onsager, Erik Onsager, Jennifer Buchholtz, Shawn Skiles, Timothy Skiles, Ashley Skiles, Seth Onsager, Kasha Jacks. She also has 16 great-grandchildren. She is also surived by two brothers, Frederick “Fritz” (Lois) Porter, Albert (Lynn) Porter and one sister Annie Gaus and many nieces and nephews.

Emma was preceded in death by her husband Huns in 1985, her parents Fred and Barbara, a brother John Porter, a brother George Putzler, a daughter in-law Kathy Onsager, and a great-granddaughter Bria Jacks.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Crandall Funeral Home, Mauston.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Mauston for Emma and her son Jay with visiting time from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
